Policy Ambassadors Program

The Policy Ambassadors Program is NIGAC’s citizen-oriented and accountability-driven program to engage our sub-nationals on Policy Issues that revolves around Governance and Policymaking. NIGAC Policy Ambassadors are the fulcrum that hold our Leaders accountable on programs and projects at the sub-national level. As Policy Ambassadors, they are mandated to track, monitor, and evaluate in a non-partisan manner Government Policies implemented at the sub-national and local government levels of governance. Working with NIGAC designed Policy Tracker Framework, NIGAC Policy Ambassadors engage with Policymakers and elected officials on policy analysis, policy formulation, policy execution and policy evaluation.

Policy Ambassadors do the following:

  1. Carry out extensive Policy Simplification Exercises providing insights and analysis for citizens engagement
  2. Carry out insightful Policy Research and prepare Reports in line with their Findings backed by objective data and hard-facts
  3. Produce Policy Briefs that evaluates the impacts of Government Implemented Policies backed by objective data and hard-facts
  4. Design citizen-oriented Policy Proposals that are sponsored by State Legislators in the State Houses of Assemblies
  5. Engage regularly with Policy Leaders in Government to better understand the inner workings of Government
